Dr. Marlene K. Ziebig (Dr. rer. nat., Dipl.-Chem.)
Marlene K. Ziebig took a degree in Chemistry at the State University of Kharkov (former USSR) in 1975 with a specialisation in Physical Chemistry and Thermodynamics. Until 1983 she worked as a scientific assistant in research and teaching in the Chemistry Department of the Humboldt University of Berlin. Working for her thesis in the field of electrochemical syntheses of potential phenylalkylamine analogous medicines, she acquired extensive knowledge in electrochemistry, particularly in polarographic, cyclic-voltammetric and coulometric research methods. Her teaching focused on practical organic chemistry and natural products chemistry.
Dr. Marlene K. Ziebig has specialised in IP Law since 1982. After her employment with the Patent Department of the Berlin Academy of Sciences she was a member of the Patent Department of the Central Institute for Molecular Biology of the Academy of Sciences from 1986 until 1990. There she was responsible for the elaboration, filing and enforcement of biotechnical patents. Between 1982 and 1985 she successfully completed a supplementary course on IP Law at the Humboldt University of Berlin. In 1990 Dr. Ziebig qualified as a German patent attorney and in 1991 as a European patent attorney. She practised as a patent attorney in the Cologne-based law firm of Kreisler Selting Werner until 1992.
In 1993 she teamed up with Klaus Gulde. They were joined in 1994 by Jürgen D. Hengelhaupt and in 2002 by Henry Schneider, when together they founded the present law firm of Gulde Hengelhaupt Ziebig & Schneider.
