Stephan Mainitz graduated in Chemistry at the Free University of Berlin with a specialisation in Organic Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry.
He qualified as a patent attorney in 1994.
In 2002 Stephan Mainitz joined Gulde Hengelhaupt Ziebig & Schneider where he specialises in national and international Patent Law as well as Trademark Law.
