Dr. Jan Neigenfink (Dipl.-Chem.)
Jan Neigenfink studied Chemistry at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nürnberg and the Technical University of Berlin. He specialised in Organic and Analytical Chemistry, taking his degree in 1993 with an organo-synthetic work project on the production of the natural substance taxol. In 1994 he successfully completed a supplementary course on IP Law at the Humboldt University of Berlin. In 1998 he obtained his PhD working in a photochemical research group in the Chemistry Department of the Humboldt University in Berlin. In his thesis he dealt with the creation of a synthetic access to macrocycles with Cycloheptatriene units.
In 1999 Dr. Neigenfink started his career as a patent attorney candidate in the Berlin practice of Schneider. He qualified as a German patent attorney in 2001, subsequently working in the Berlin office of a national law firm until 2005. He qualified the same year as a European patent attorney and joined Gulde Hengelhaupt Ziebig & Schneider.
Dr. Neigenfink is competent in all the areas of intellectual property law with a particular emphasis on national and international patent law. His technical areas of specialisation are medical technology, materials science, plastics, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, analytics, environmental technology, coating technology, organic and inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry and fuel cells.
